Stretches
Intermediate to Advanced students will need to do some stretching before class.
Students who are learning how to turn their head to the side to breathe (Freestyle stroke) should be doing these stretches.
I have found just doing these 6 stretches before classes have made a HUGE difference in my students ability to perform the intermediate and advanced swimming techniques correctly. This helps to reduce the number of classes it takes them to learn the correct techniques!
I suggest any student who has been assigned stretching before class, arrive at class at least 10 minutes early so that they have plenty of time to do these stretches BEFORE CLASS STARTS. Let’s save swimming lesson time for SWIMMING! :)
Please use the SUNROOM to stretch so as to not distract the student in the class before you.
You are also welcome to do these stretches at home, prior to leaving for class, if that works better for you.
Below are images for the 6 stretches I’ve assigned.
Please do each stretch at least 5 times on each side or in different directions if appropriate.
